Fall 2013 Week 4 (Sept 24th)

Apologies for the awful pictures…. my back-up camera broke two weeks ago.  New to us this week (at least this season) are the daikon and black radishes.  Daikon is good for miso soup and stir fries.  Black radish is a tasty snacking radish – serve sliced with sharp cheese.  I think both the beets below look like plain red beets, but I won’t know for sure until I cut them… the candy stripes have alternating light and dark stripes that make them great for salads.
