Winter 2015-16 Week 7 (Jan 19th)

Second to last week of Winter season and David has decided he can manage without a break in the CSA for tree and vine pruning, so a 9 week Extended Winter is up on the website.  I hope everyone’s enjoying their root vegetables, roasted, mashed, or in a pureed or chunky soup.  Maybe on top of kale salad this week?  Our beets are already gone, but if they weren’t I’d make borscht, a great way to use carrots, potato, beets, and cabbage.

Small: curly leaf kale, parsnips, beets, carrots, assorted squash (either buttercup, acorn, or spaghetti) apples, potatoes, beautiful green cabbage, salad mix, spinach, purple onion, rutabaga, yellow onion.
