Extended Winter 2016 Week 5 (Mar 1)

Garlic, garlic, garlic. David’s supply has just started to really sprout. He told me 5-10 day sprouted is actually the healthiest stage for garlic with the most antioxidants, so I looked into it. Luckily garlic has many uses and benefits. Try garlic soup, garlic salad dressing ( I always use my microplane for garlic), garlic rice, garlic oil, or just plant it. For those interested, just email (zoe@zoegarden.com) and David will add a large bag of garlic to your box next week.

Lets not overlook the honeycomb. Such a delicacy. You can eat the waxy comb, spreading it on crackers or bread helps with the texture. I think this first, tender romain of the season deserves some homemade caesar dressing.

Small: Romain lettuce, broccolini, baby turnips, carrots, purple onion, shallot, yellow onion, kale, lots of garlic, honeycomb, apples, spinach, lettuce mix.
