Summer 2019 Week 4 (June 25th)

Chrysanthemum greens (shungiku), salad mix, spinach, chinese broccolik swiss chard, butter lettuce, miniature romain, radishes, sugar snap peas, mustard greens, broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, purple kale.

Loved this chinese broccoli recipe tonight, if you have more energy than the usual steam and serve with oyster sauce. I also made the chrysanthemum greens with tofu using this recipe and served with rice. A quick pickle that I like is to take toss thinly sliced radishes with salt until wilted and water is released.  Rinse with water several times, drain well and add a teaspoon of sugar and a couple tablespoons of rice vinegar. I can’t remember the last time we got butter lettuce, so this is a real treat! Use it as a lettuce wrap for meat or this simple salad with a shallot vinaigrette.

Spring 2018 Week 2 (April 17th)

Swiss chard, turnip greens (longer ones), Chinese broccoli, onion, Yukon gold potato, spinach, salad mix, 1/2 green cabbage, miniature romain, purple kale, radishes, carrot, shallot, garlic, cilantro, Brussels sprouts.

I’ve been hoping we’d get Chinese broccoli again since I came across this Pad See Ew recipe. Cabbage, kale, cilantro, and radishes can go in spring rolls for the side dish. Here’s a quick dinner with polenta that can help you use any green leafy vegetable.

Summer 2017 Week 13 (Sept. 5th)

Small: collard greens, red pepper, serrano peppers, basil, arugula, spinach, napa cabbage, cherry tomatoes, green beans, leek, cucumber, armenian cucumber, pattypan squash, chinese long beans.

Medium Add: miniature romain, green bell pepper, salad mix, miniature romain, spinach, radishes, spring onions, broccoli, summer squash, chinese broccoli.

The chinese broccoli (my favorite thing to get at dimsum), long beans, and napa cabbage are making me crave Chinese food. Has anyone made gazpacho yet? This is my go-to quick dinner with cherry tomatoes.

Happy cooking (and eating) everyone!
